Jim Jefferies: Fully Functional
“A master-class that stretches the very levels of human decency, hitting heights never afforded to even the likes of Lenny Bruce, Richard Pryor and Bill Hicks.” STV
Jim Jefferies, the globally renowned Australian stand-up, has announced a return to this years Edinburgh Festival for his 7th solo show ‘Fully Functional’ – this will be the first time he has performed in the UK since his 2010 mammoth 50 date tour of the critically acclaimed show ‘Alcoholocaust’.
Now a seasoned resident of Hollywood and with a huge Stateside following to boot – Jim is due to announce a massive US arena and theatre tour for this Autumn promoted by giants AEG (the reason his UK tour had to be shortened), as well as the forthcoming recording of his very first FX series ‘Legit’. As a writer he has also sold 4 scripts to date – no mean feat! He also has a hugely successful monthly podcast that has over 500,000 unique visitors a month and he has recorded over 100 episodes to date. His hardcore comedy has attracted fans of a similar nature with at least 10 fans having his name tattooed on their bodies!
In ‘Fully Functional’, Jim once again challenges our beliefs and routine behavior. Always surprising and controversial Jim is best known for his living-on-the-edge, true life stories in which his good intentions are masked with deviant behaviour. From a threesome he had in Montreal, to God at a party and meeting Neil Finn at a Q Magazine Awards.
He recently performed at LA’s Gibson Theatre alongside Eddie Izzard and Larry King as well as being the closing speaker at the Global Atheist’s convention in Melbourne in front of 10,000 people.
His last Edinburgh saw Jim perform his biggest and best show to date at the Edinburgh Festival’s 1000 seater McEwan Hall, where he sold over 17,500 tickets and garnered six 5-star reviews and eleven 4-star reviews, it was recorded for DVD which is still in the top 50 DVD sellers on Amazon and Play. Jim has firmly established his place in the hierarchy of UK comedy.
On UK TV Jim has been the face of Comedy Central UK’s ‘Grouchy Young Men’ and has appeared on ITV’S ‘Comedy Rocks’, BBC1’s ‘Have I Got News For You’ (where he flirted outrageously with and was turned down by, host Moira Stewart!), BBC 2’s ‘Never Mind The Buzzcocks’, and BBC3’s ‘The Worlds Most Offensive Joke’ Ch4’s ‘8 Out of 10 Cats’, E4’s ‘Big Brother’s Celebrity Hijack’, Dave’s ‘Celebrity Carpool’ with Robert Llewelyn Bowen, Sky 1’s ‘Premier League All-Stars’(playing for Fulham) and Paramount’s ‘Class of ’97’ alongside Simon Pegg, Matt Lucas, David Walliams and Mighty Boosh. Stateside Jim has hosted HBO’s ‘Live at Gotham’, starred in ‘Funny as Hell’ and ‘Down & Dirty’ he’s also been seen on ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno’, and ‘Lopez Tonight’ and was the main panelist on ‘Paul Provenza’s Green Room’.

Andrew Maxwell: That's the Spirit
“THIS IS AN EQUAL-OPPORTUNITIES TOUR DE FORCE FROM A MASTER MOCKER.” Independent 2011
Following his hugely successful Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2011, Fosters Comedy Award nominated Andrew Maxwell returns to Edinburgh this year with a brand new show.
Renowned for his cutting edge comedy, intrepid social commentary and political protagonism, an Andrew Maxwell show is always a must-see for anyone who enjoys their laughs unflinching and topical.
“GROWN-UP STAND UP…THIS IS INDISPUTABLY AN EFFECTIVE SET, IN WHICH CATHOLICS AND IRISH NATIONALISTS, GLOBAL POWER-BROKERS AND SELF-REGULATING BANKERS ARE MOCKED FOR THEIR BREACHES OF CONSISTENCY AND THEIR AFFRONTS TO JUSTICE.” Guardian 2011
Andrew continues to dominate the live and festival circuits. Notable appearances have included several sell-out shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, The Amnesty / Channel Four Secret Policeman's Ball (alongside Eddie Izzard, Chevy Chase and Dylan Moran - "Maxwell turned it around... he made us feel part of an event" THE TIMES), The HBO US Comedy & Arts Festival in Las Vegas (alongside Jerry Seinfeld and Chris Rock), several sell-out runs in the main house of London’s Soho Theatre, Kilkenny Cat Laughs Festival, Glastonbury and Montreal’s Just for Laughs Festival.
“FIERCELY INTELLIGENT COMEDY” Observer 2011
Andrew has won and been nominated for several major awards including The Edinburgh Comedy Award, The Time Out Live Award for Best Stand-up, The Loaded Magazine Award for Best Stand-up and The Chortle Award for Best Contribution To The Live Comedy Circuit. He was also recently voted Best Irish Comedian by the public at the Entertainment.ie Awards.
In 2008 Andrew filmed the one-off pilot Conflict Revolution for BBC Northern Ireland. It was released as a DVD alongside a live recording of his 2008 Edinburgh show and reaffirms Andrew’s continued development and exploration of comedy as a way of crossing cultural, social and religious borders.
He released his third live DVD at Christmas 2010 and this year has toured Ireland, performed at The Melbourne Comedy Festival and at The Altitude Comedy Festival, of which he is a founder member. He most recently appeared on Have I Got News For You and Mock The Week (both BBC2), Celebrity Juice (ITV2) and Argumental (Dave) and also took part in Comic Relief's 24 Hour Panel People challenge in a special version of Mock The Week.
This year Andrew has appeared on Live At The Apollo and piloted a documentary for BBC 3 based on the 9/11 conspiracy theories. This has since been commissioned as a series to be transmitted this year.

Michael Winslow: Noizey Man
★★★★★ “Unparalleled… from the minute he takes the stage, the audience wear ear-to-ear grins” EDINBURGH EVENING NEWS
Last summer, a true Hollywood legend appeared at the Fringe, his name practically unrecognized, his face vaguely familiar. He left a month later as one of the highest selling, greatest reviewed, most talked about performers the festival has ever seen, having sold every single seat and receiving standing ovations in every single show. Following his first UK nationwide tour, Michael Winslow returns this August with a brand new hour of stunning sound effects, inspiring impressions and a downright immense amalgamation of Noize.
Best known for playing Sgt “Motor Mouth” Jones in the hugely successful Police Academy films, Michael is the master of vocal gymnastics and his claim that he is the original vocal artist of the 20th century was absolutely proven with his success at last year’s Fringe. He can imitate the impossible using only his voice, from how Led Zeppelin began to what Star Wars would sound like without its original soundtrack.
Born in 1958 on Fairchild Air Force Base, Michael would imitate the airplane noises and jet engines and soon he was on stage at Tulagi’s, Colorado, where Jimmy Hendrix, The Doors, and various other famous bands had played. Hearing that a group of Jimmy Hendrix fans were present, he decided to portray him and, from the ovation and applause that followed, Michael knew his calling.
Whilst living homeless in Venice Beach, Michael auditioned for the Gong Show, hosted by the infamous Chuck Barris, and soon moved on to LA to perform in the local comedy clubs. It was here that he was discovered by Bud Friedman, founder of the renowned New York Improvisation Comedy Club and who, in the past, has launched the careers of the likes of Bette Midler, Andy Kaufman and Jay Leno. Friedman featured Michael in the famousEvening at the Improv and in 1984 producers Hugh Wilson and Paul Manslanski witnessed his talent and immediately wrote him into the script of the unforgettable Police Academy movies.
A star was born, and Michael went on to provide the voice of Stripe in Stephen Spielberg’s Gremlins, and to star in National Lampoon’s Robo Doc and Mel Brooks’ Spaceballs. You can also hear him in various episodes of Family Guy, King Of The Hill!, and Robot Chicken.
Nu Line Cinema have announced the making of another Police Academy movie, filming of which will begin this autumn!

Sammy J and Randy: The Inheritance
BEST COMEDY NOMINEE - Adelaide Fringe 2012
BARRY AWARD (BEST SHOW) – Melbourne Comedy Festival 2010
GOLDEN GIBBO AWARD NOMINEE - Melbourne Comedy Festival 2009
AGE CRITICS AWARDS WINNER - 2008
BARRY AWARD NOMINEE - Best Show 2008
The Fringe’s favourite multi-award winning, toe-tapping, song-singing, Hep-C riddled duo are back this year with yet another hilarious, foam-induced bonanza of delightful craziness and sublime silliness.
Fresh from the Adelaide Fringe, and a new nomination under their under-sized belts, The Inheritance sees the one and only skinny-man Sammy J and his purple puppet pal Randy side by side once more in a brand new adventure. When Randy discovers he is heir to an enormous fortune, he seeks to reclaim his rightful throne. Will Sammy J stand in his way? Probably. The show is already a hit in their homeland with 5 star (Herald Sun: “I really don’t know how it could be better”) and 4 star (Chortle: “A fine addition to Sammy J and Randy’s legacy”) reviews!
Since their first appearance together in Sammy J in the Forest of Dreams in 2008, and last year’s Ricketts Lane which garnered 5 star reviews throughout last year’s festival, Sammy J and Randy have never looked back. Awards, nominations, countless festivals, headlining galas, sell-out shows (including lesser known venues like the Sydney Opera House), extra dates, five-star reviews... at some point they expect people will stop caring for their skinny-man-purple-puppet shenanigans, but until then, they'll keep writing shows, and The Inheritance will no doubt be their third smash hit at the Fringe.
SAMMY J
Sammy J is fast becoming a Fringe legend and in Australia his songs can frequently be heard on TV and radio. Sammy has been involved in several productions at the Fringe over the years including his own solo shows as well as the hit theatrical production ‘Breaker Morant’ alongside fellow Aussies Adam Hills and Brendan Burns. His writing regularly appears in Australian publications and Sammy’s latest album “Skinny Man, Modern World”, is available now through iTunes.
HEATH MCIVOR
At the 2009 Fringe Festival, Heath became renowned as one of the world’s most talented puppeteers with Randy’s Postcard’s From Purgatory. His career in theatre, film and television spans 14 years and includes everything from visiting Cambodia to run puppeteering workshops with deaf children to playing a nine-eyed green monster called Field on last year's CBBC hit series 'Me and My Monsters'. Randy first arrived in Edinburgh in 2008 where he popped up at a few late-night spots, and then enjoyed a month’s sell-out run last year with his second hour-long show ‘Randy is Sober’.

Pete Johansson: Utopian Crack Pipe
2010 Chortle Breakthrough Act - Nominee
2009 Edinburgh Comedy Awards Best Newcomer - Nominee
Pete Johansson returns to the Fringe with his latest show Utopian Crack Pipe. This hour witnesses Pete’s growth via a new type of undressing of his personal values as he ages. After the analysis he gave his body in the Edinburgh Comedy Award nominated 2009 show Naked Pictures of my Life, he's now focusing on transitional values, the less obvious mental and moral decay of getting older, and the addiction he has trying to make the world a better place.
Although a relative newcomer to the British shores, Pete’s comedy career spans more than 20 years; he is a veteran of practically every comedy festival on the planet, a regular TV guest in three countries, and a firm favourite on the UK, Canadian and American comedy circuits. His laid-back and ironic delivery wins him consistent fantastic reviews and award nominations wherever he plays.
Warner Brothers, HBO, Castle Rock and NBC have all vied for Pete’s allegiance, and Pete has toured sell-out shows in Hong Kong, the Philippines, Dubai, Qatar, Malta, Amsterdam and Afghanistan. His recent British TV appearances include BBC's Russell Howard's Good News, Channel 4's Best of The Fest, Comedy Central's Live from The Comedy Store, BBC4’s Sex Bombs and CBC TV's The Debaters.

WINNER – BEST NEWCOMER – MELBOURNE AIRPORT AWARD 2008
What is the Hedgehog Dilemma? Trying to wear tiny jackets over your spikes, or every time that you get close to somebody, you might get hurt? After discovering this analogy for human intimacy, Felicity pondered, “What kind of hedgehog am I?” ...and then she wrote this show. A hilarious, raw and heartfelt exploration into an autobiographical tale you wish was made up. The Hedgehog Dilemma won over the crowds and critics at the Australian festivals this year and plans to de-spike the crowds of Edinburgh this summer.
Felicity first bounced onto the Australian comedy scene in 2005 in Ten Network’s popular sketch show The Ronnie Johns Half Hour. She has since gone on to become one of Down-Under’s favourite funny people, appearing in ABC’s prominent comedy quiz show Spicks and Specks as well as Thank God You’re Here (Channel 7) and Good News Week (Channel Ten).
In 2009, Felicity took her award-winning debut solo show Ugly As A Child Variety Show to the Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne and Edinburgh Comedy Festivals. She has toured internationally, from Hong Kong to Singapore, and earlier this year co-starred in Working Dog Productions’ (from the makers of The Castle and The Dish) new Australian comedy movie Any Questions For Ben?

Dana Alexander: Breaking Through
CHORTLE AWARDS Best Club Comic 2012 – Nominee
BLACK COMEDY AWARDS: Best International Act 2011
BLACK COMEDY AWARDS: Funniest Comedy Moment of 2011
One of last year’s hottest newcomers, Dana Alexander, is back, and one year wiser. This last year has been a momentous one for Britain, from media scandal to national riots, and what the average Brit may see as ‘everyday’ can perplex an outsider. Breaking Through is a foreign perspective on said events and British life in general because, if we don’t laugh, we’ll cry...
Originally from Edmonton, Alberta, Dana is the only female black Canadian comic on the circuit. In her native country she was voted ‘Best Discoveries’ by Now Magazine (Canada) in 2006 and has since been included in their "Best Of" issues three years in a row, easily making her one of Canada’s hottest emerging young comedians.
Since moving this side of the pond less than twelve months ago, Dana continues to draw her material from her diverse lifestyle, her gay friends and her crazy Jamaican family. She has been gigging endlessly and was nominated for Best Club Comic at the Chortle Awards 2012, Best International Act (alongside Chris Rock and Reg D Hunter) and Funniest Momment at the Black Comedy Awards 2011 and recently appeared on Most Annoying People 2011 (BBC3) and on Russell Howard’s Good News (BBC3) this spring.

With his unconventional comedic delivery and the perfect combination of one-liners, observations and gags, Benny is considered in the industry to be one of the most original and finest joke writers in the business. Because of this he is fast becoming known as the next ‘comic’s comic’. He stormed the Altitude Comedy Festival this March and was the one comedian, out of a line up of top acts such as Tim Minchin, Jimmy Carr and Frankie Boyle that everyone - audience, critics and comics - was talking about.
Last year, Australian born Benny’s debut solo Edinburgh show Set Up, Punchline, Pause For Laughter deconstructed the comedians’ performance. This year, Benny brings to Edinburgh a brand new hour of fresh new jokes, delivered in his soon-to-be-famous style, and trying to reach a level that athletes call ‘in the zone’ where, once reached, you would (theoretically) be able to say anything and the audiences will lose their minds.
Benny is still establishing himself on the comedy circuit after going full time this year. He has performed at numerous comedy festivals throughout the world and once became a UK finalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing.

Clown, adventurer and explorer, where does one begin to describe the madness that is Tim Fitzhigham? Do we start with his two rather bizarre Guinness World Records? That he was made a Freeman of London, and a Freeman of the Company of Watermen and Lightermen of the River Thames? Or that he has a toilet named after him? What about the Morris Dancing from London to Norwich?
