Glenn Wool in London - 27/28 January 2012
Thank God. Glenn Wool is coming back to the UK
Picture this. The year is 2008. A delighted Wool has been nominated for the Chortle 'Best Headliner' award along with Jim Jefferies, Michael McIntyre, and Rhod Gilbert. Drunkenly crawling off a flight from Shanghai, he goes directly to the ceremony and loses.... to Michael McIntyre.
After spending all night at the bar and vomiting on the bar, the floor, the walls and the stairs of the beautiful function space, Glenn decides he’s had enough. Literally and spiritually he goes home.
Back in North America he stops drinking and starts again, then stops again, ad nauseum. Who knows where Glenn would be if he'd stayed in the UK with those other fairly successful chaps from that nominee list? Impossible to know. However, what we do know is where he’s been after that. For the last three years Glenn has been travelling the world from Ireland to Australia, via India, NZ, Singapore, HK, China, Holland, Dubai, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, America, Canada, Indonesia, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Malaysia, cracking jokes, getting in scrapes with Indonesian customs officers, watching beavers, seeing ufos in Manhattan, visiting the Creation Museum in Kentucky and everything in between.
A pioneer of the world circuit and with no fixed abode, this show will let you peep through the window into a life jam packed with experiences, distilled to perfection and poured into a laughter packed hour of straight up honest stand up comedy.

Sextraffic -Irish Comedian Versus Sexism
2nd -5th March 2011
9.30pm
Have we learned to value women, or simply put a value on them? After his sell-out success at Soho last year Keith is back with a new show that will make you think hard and laugh even harder.
'Incisive, brilliant comedy' ***** WhatsOnStage
If Eddie Izzard had been Irish, he'd surely have turned out a lot like Keith Farnan.” -The Scotsman
“Both witty and insightful, Farnan combines charm and chutzpah and tells a good yarn – his jokes can be sparky and sometimes even edgy, yet he remains gleeful throughout” – The Stage
“A Pacy, Compassionate Show… A Comedian with formidable Skill” ” – The List
Keith Farnan is the latest in a long tradition of great Irish comedians. His first two Edinburgh Shows have already been received with critical acclaim as well as Sell Out runs.
With a flair for combining intelligence, charm and sharp writing, his first show, Cruel and Unusual, dealt with the Death Penalty in America. Such was the response to the show, it appeared in the Royal Festival Hall in London as part of their Unwrapped Season. It has been touring various festivals and venues around Ireland and England since then.
The Second, No Blacks. No Jews. No Dogs. No Irish. All Welcome dealt with racism and immigration-ism and is being transferred to the Soho Theatre in March 2010 after a Sold Out run at the Edinburgh Festival 2009. Both shows featured on BBC Radio 4’s Loose Ends and Cruel and Unusual is in development for Irish Television.
TV Credits include the Irish Stand-up shows, the “Liffey Laughs” for RTE as well as “One Night Stand” for BBCNI television. He has written and performed for the show “Sweet” on Irish Television and recently wrote for the Topical Panel show, “That’s all we have time for”. For Radio, he has written and performed his own comedy pilot, ”The Insomniac Club” for BBC radio as well as co-hosting and featuring on a variety of Arts Programs on Irish Radio.

Jim Jefferies - Alcoholocaust @ The Leicester Square Theare
JIM JEFFERIES
ALCOHOLOCAUST
DVD Released: 8th November 2010
UK Tour: 50 Dates - October – December 2010
Thurs 16th – Thurs 23rd and Sun 26th – Thurs 30th December
LONDON: LEICESTER SQUARE THEATRE
Jim Jefferies the globally renowned Australian stand-up comedian, has announced a 50 date UK tour and the release of his brand new DVD for the very same show ‘Alcoholocaust’. He is also playing 13 nights at the Leicester Square Theatre in London
After a triumphant and critically acclaimed 6th solo show at the Edinburgh Festival’s 1000 seater McEwan Hall, where he sold over 17,000 tickets! Garnered six 5-star reviews and ten 4-star reviews, Jim is now one of the ‘must-see’ comedians in the world right now! The DVD, released by Comedy Central UK, was shot in July this year at the Lyric Theatre Shaftsbury Avenue and runs for 120 minutes showcases Jim at his comedy best!
‘Alcoholocaust’ includes some of Jim’s favourite wild antics over the past year and as always Jim’s material is set in reality, which is what provides him with his trademark brutally frank style. You will also hear about a hilarious and often touching true story about his friend’s severely disabled brother plus Jim’s traditional pet hates - religion & idiots.
Over the last two years Jim has been making his mark on the U.S.A, where he now resides in Venice Beach. He is currently making his own show for Comedy Central US entitled ‘The Jim Jefferies Show’ and has screen-tested alongside Hollywood stars Drew Barrymore and Justin Long amongst others. His own one-hour HBO special ‘I Swear To God’ has given him huge success, following in the footsteps of comic legends Eddie Izzard and Billy Connolly who were also awarded one-hour specials. Cementing his place as one of the biggest names in comedy around the globe. Last year Jim was the only international comic to perform his own show at the new ‘Just For Laughs Festival’ in Chicago alongside comic luminaries that include Ellen DeGeneres and Jimmy Fallon.
Jim can currently be seen as the face of Comedy Central UK’s ‘Grouchy Young Men’ and has appeared on the BBC1’s ‘Have I Got News For You’ (where he flirted outrageously with, and was turned down by, host Moira Stewart!), BBC 2’s ‘Never Mind The Buzzcocks’, Ch4’s ‘8 Out of 10 Cat’s’, E4’s ‘Big Brother’s Celebrity Hijack’, Sky 1’s ‘Premier League All-Stars’(playing for Fulham) and Paramount’s ‘Class of ’97’ alongside Simon Pegg, Matt Lucas, David Walliams and Mighty Boosh. Stateside Jim has hosted HBO’s ‘Live at Gotham’ and has appeared on ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno’ and had a strong debate with hapless host Chelsea Lately.
REVIEWS SO FAR FOR ‘ALCOHOCAUST’:
“Australia’s fiercest, funniest and sharpest comedian… a dazzling one-hour laugh fest that’t alternately dribble-down-your-chest, roar-till-your-sides-hurt funny and achingly poignant. The most hilarious hour of stand up that you will see.”
NEWS OF THE WORLD *****
“Genuinely hilarious”
SUNDAY TIMES ****
“Alcoholocaust is a blistering assault of comedy brilliance.”
TIME OUT ****
“Jim Jefferies is a great observational comic… And he only uses the word c**nt 14 times!”
SCOTSMAN ****
“Jefferies is currently stand-up comedy’s most irresistible force.”
HERALD *****
“Other comedians may cut to the bone, even draw blood but when Jefferies is in full flow he is the stand up equivalent of Spinal Tap, with a single jab he can turn a cacophony of laughs into winces, gasps and giggles.”
METRO ****
“Jim Jefferies is now one of the biggest names in comedy worldwide. A full on comedy superstar”
THE LIST ****
“His timing and delivery is masterful and Jefferies has the audience in the palm of his hand within the first few minutes.” EDINBURGH FESTIVAL MAGAZINE *****
“He delivers a rousing roundhouse of laughs, barely giving his audience time to inhale between gasps of ecstatic outrage.
Hugely enjoyable by his dedicated army of filth fans.”
BROADWAY BABY *****
“Hysterical, filthy and pleasantly shocking. Jefferies has lost none of his frank and brutally honest wit…”
HAIRLINE *****
“Buy a ticket and enjoy a real comedy superstar.”
ONE 4 REVIEW *****
“One of Jefferies finest comedic attributes is his skill at crafting a monumental anecdote… comedy gold…”
SPOONFED.CO.UK ****
“Painfully funny”
BRITISH COMEDY GUIDE ****
“He reveals himself to be an evocative storyteller, showing that behind all the brutal bluster is a comic with heart”
CHORTLE ****
“The self-styled super offensive Australian stand-up does not disappoint. The material is truly outrageous and Jeffries’ impressive stage presence is alternately lively and laconic. Moreover, the construction of his routines is actually very clever”
BIG ISSUE ****
“It’s a master-class that stretches the very levels of human decency, hitting heights never afforded to even the likes of Lenny Bruce, Richard Pryor and Bill Hicks”

Review for Malady
***** 5 Stars - One4Review - http://one4review.wordpress.com/2010/...
It is not very often that this wizened reviewer gets blown away by a musician at first hearing. I usually find the attraction grows over a period of time, but last year I was with the Fringe show delivered by Lady Carol.
She is a stunningly attractive blonde, perched on a stool with only her trusty ukulele for company and blessed with a voice that is unique and amazing. I wanted more, I wanted a CD.
I'm pleased to say she's back, but only for a short season, accompanied on piano and backing vocals by the lovely Kirsty Newton. I am pleased to say she is in fine voice again and the hour spent in her company is the quickest of the week. She can handle all styles of music and turn it into her own. Minnie the Moocher, Kate Bush, even Radiohead are given Malady's treatment and to me she is even better than the originals. And she writes her own material to boot!
During the past year she has extensively toured the world, never anywhere for long, hence her short stay at The Fringe, but if you can, do yourself a favour, check her out today. And be prepared to be blown away as I was. And this year she does have a CD you can buy to enjoy the experience forever.

Pete Johansson at the SOHO THEATRE - 8PM, 18th & 19th June 2010
PETE JOHANSSON
The much sought after world-wide headliner Pete Johansson will be performing at the SOHO THEATRE with his Edinburgh Comedy Award nominated show, ‘Naked Pictures of My Life’.
Laid-back and observational, Pete’s ironic delivery has earned him deals with Warner Brothers, HBO and Castle Rock and landed him appearances on NBC’s prominent late night show Friday Night, HBO’s Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen and a support slot for Russell Peters at the 20,000 capacity Orpheum Theatre in Vancouver last year.
Having conquered the west-side of the pond as well as touring sell-out shows in Hong Kong, the Philippines, Dubai, Qatar, Malta, Amsterdam and Afghanistan, Pete arrived in the UK last year where he has already become a favourite at London’s renowned Comedy Store (where he recorded his new live CD), been invited on Radio 4’s prominent Loose Ends as well as other radio and TV programmes, performed alongside the likes of Stephen Merchant, Stewart Lee and Simon Amstell as part of charity Alert’s peace benefit at the Bloomsbury Theatre in London, and bagged a starring role opposite Ed Byrne is BBC4’s Sex Bombs. More recently, Pete was nominated for ‘Best Breakthrough Act’ at the Chortle Awards, has recorded a set for Comedy Centrals The Comedy Store, was on Channel 4’s Best Of The Fest show and is heading back to the Montreal Just for Laughs festival in Montreal to perform one of the main televised Gala’s. Pete is also on the short list to perform on the BBC’s Michael McIntyre Roadshow.
In Naked Pictures of My Life, Pete illustrates the embarrassing developments of his life and how he has reached his ‘happy-apathy’ attitude towards life…
...Will Pete mention that his grandmother had 3 boob-jobs and 2 divorces by the end of the 1930’s?...
...That his lay-Franciscan monk father took a vow of poverty despite his wife’s desperate want for money...
... That his LA TV-star brother Paul Johansson left Pete alone at 17 at a dinner table with the Ford-Coppollas...
Praise for Pete Johansson...

Keith Farnan - No Blacks. No Jews. No Dogs. No Irish. All Welcome
VENUE: The Soho Theatre, 21 Dean Street, London W1D 3NE
DATE: 17th – 20th March 2010
TIME: 9:45pm
PRICE: £12 / £10
BOX OFFICE: 0207 4780100 / www.sohotheatre.com
Whilst working in a restaurant in the USA, Keith came across this old-fashioned sign in the manager’s office. Stranger still is that the employees consisted of a young African-American, a Jewish waiter and his Irish self, but no dogs to be seen, so perhaps certain prejudices never die. ‘No Blacks. No Jews. No Dogs. No Irish. All Welcome’ is the exploration into racism and religion-ism in the bad old days as well as the issues raised by immigration today.
Critically acclaimed comic Keith Farnan has always found being Irish an advantage – who doesn’t love a good old Irish accent whilst sipping on a pint of stout? But it wasn’t always like this and signs such as “No Irish Need Apply” were commonplace where the Irish landed in droves. So what happened to change people's mind? And how have the Irish treated their own immigrants over the years?
A former qualified solicitor practicing in litigation, Keith has performed all over the world, from the Boston International Comedy Festival to the Middle East. His debut show ‘Cruel and Unusual’, a comedy show against the Death Penalty in America, garnered much attention from media and punters alike at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and went on to become part of the Royal Festival Halls Xmas Festival in London as well as the N20 Comedy Festival and a feature on BBC Radio 4.
